04/03 One Of My Fondest Childhood Memories

When I was 5 years old, I studied in a kindergarten. There was a swimming pool in my kindergarten, so we had a swimming class, too. Because we were too small, if we wanted to join the swimming class, we had to get the parental consensus first. At that time, I wanted to play in the water eagerly; however, my parents did not allow me to join the class due to the concern of my safety. No matter how intensively I begged them to let me swim with other children, they did not agree. So I had nothing to do but stood out of the swimming pool and watched them enjoying the water activity.  As a result, I never joined the swimming class when I studied in the kindergarten.
Then I entered the elementary school, and totally forgot about the swimming thing. However, when I was a 5th grader, one of my classmates invited me to go swimming. Although I could not swim, I joined him without a doubt. I still remembered how happy I was when the first time I jumped into the swimming pool. Strangely enough, I could swim! Although I never learned anything about swimming, I could move under the water. I seemed that I was born in the water. After that, I went swimming pretty often with my classmates on weekends, and I also learned the crawl and breaststroke style, and how to breath under the water.
When I was a 7th grader, I had a opportunity to join the school swimming team. Although we had to practice in the early morning, besides, the water was cold, and the practice was a hardship, too, I was quite happy that I could swim 3 times a week. Then there was a big game coming - the Kaohsiung county sports competition. Some of my teammate joined the game, including me. I took part in the 200-meter breaststroke style race, and got the 4th place in that game. Although my score was not good enough to participate in the national competition, I was satisfied with it. This was one of my fondest childhood memories.
